Mon-Tues:

9 AM - 1PM, Two or three, 45 minute mini-assembly presentations. Usually we divide the school up into two to four sections and get all the assemblies done on Monday if possible.

1-5PM, AFTS Sky Captain works on designing the image on the field. 4 students help an hour or so each day. Filming also happens during these times.

Wednesday: Work on image, film students, school and area.

Needs: digital projector, screen and large, preferably dark room.

Thursday:

Sky Art Day! Usually we create the image right after lunch, with morning spent preparing image details with a few selected students and adult volunteers. However, we can create the image anytime that works for you. Total time on the field is 45-90 minutes max. Generally, volunteer "Field Captains" (parents, friends, etc.,) take responsibility for helping to organize students in a assigned areas of the design. The bigger the design, the more volunteers are needed for a smooth event.

Needs: Bucket Truck, minimum height, 80ft, from which to film image. This is nearly ALWAYS donated by the local community utility company, crane service or fire department. Helicopter is a great addition for the very best pictures, if one can be found.

Friday Morning:

School-wide Assembly. Images and video of our creation together are revealed to the music everyone has learned. It is a very powerful and unforgettable event!

Needs: BIG SCREEN or white wall in Gym or Auditorium, a good PA System to plug a laptop into and a microphone.

Friday Afternoon:

We leave . . . you celebrate!
